Empty Floor

Worked yesterday to get the place ready for the flooring folk. Put the last coat of paint on the baseboards, unloaded the counter tops, relocated the computer and moved the furniture to the garage. Today (nowish) they will come and start tearing out the old floor. I did rip up some of the carpet in the toy room to get an extra coat of sealant on the floor where the cat peed. I will spray it again tonight. The store told me that spray urethane works as well as anything (hope they are right).

Tonight I think we will be having dinner at J&K's.

Easter was nice. The kids came up Friday night. The cookout was great (K-Man did the grilling). Sunday I was out of the house by 6 a.m. to go to church, I worked at all 4 services. We had 2,650 at the last service (a new Bayside record). We did have one casualty at church, though. Saturday night, my bosses' boss got into it with one of the executive pastors. She ended up walking out and resigning the position. It is really too bad as she was one of the few that have held that post that was successful in mediating the chaos. When crunch time comes at church, everyone in "power" tries to take over everything they touch. It makes the staff edgy and nervous as they end up getting direction from 5-10 different folk. The whole idea of "chain-of-command" goes right out the window. Sometimes it is hard to remember that we are a church and not a cut-throat Fortune-500 company.

Blessings on your day
