The Countdown Begins

Only about 3 weeks to go until the boy (and the girl) graduates. I will confess, there have been days I wasn't sure we would survive this. Pictures, announcements, invitations, guest lists all competed with brakes, tires and sundry other distractions.

Andrew successfully registered for school this week - he got into every class he added (how is that fair?) and is carrying a full load. Huzzah!

Here Comes the Sun!

Wait...what??? Well yesterday was gorgeous (if a little humid). Sunny and warm - of course today is a different story. Had to check the weather forecast 3 times as it was very dark and overcast this morning. The boy wondered if he should change into long pants.

Got into the car to drop him at school and discovered the reason for the "dark." It is foggy!!! In May??? Whoa, can't remember the last time we got socked in in May. Crazy year.....

Off The Island

So apparently I have been kicked off the island for talking smack about the tacos. The "PC" name is sleazy-tacos but I made the mistake of calling them greasy-tacos.

Don't get me wrong, the tacos were very tasty (I ate 6!!!) but they were also a bit greasy. Seriously - start with 20% hamburger and then fry the corn shells in oil. There is gonna be a bit of grease on your fingers and chin.

Sigh, guess I will be doing penance for a while....

Happy Cinco de Mayo

For the casual reader who may reside outside the western United States, this may just be the day before the 6th of May. Here in CA (and elsewhere in the west), however, this is the day that we celebrate Mexican pride and heritage (Cinco de Mayo).

We are getting together with the neighbors tonight to eat tacos & burritos and drink Mexican beer :-)

Grey or Gray??

Gray day ... Everything is gray. I watch. But nothing moves today

I always loved that book. Unfortunately we are in day 4 of gray wetness. I am thinking that perhaps we have shifted 500+ miles north while I wasn't looking. I suppose that I should be grateful as we are seriously low on rain this year and the wet weather will help to delay the fire season.

I hope your day is filled with sunshine
