Got Milk?
For years, we have been hammered about the need to keep calcium in our diets. Not once have I ever heard about the dangers of too much calcium for men. A couple of weeks ago, my urologist pointed out that the most likely reason I get kidney stones was that my "blood calcium" was a little high. Yesterday I stumbled over the following article: Blood calcium tied to lethal prostate cancer
As a cancer survivor, I have to wonder what part this played in MY cancer. The bottom line is that for men, too much calcium may be worse than not enough. Every (every!) guy should start getting tested for prostate cancer by age 40 (younger if there is a history of prostate and/or breast cancer in the family). This allows the doc to establish what is normal for you and makes changes much more obvious.
blessings on your day
