BBQ Season is Here

Of course we have been BBQ'g for months now, but the season is officially open :) (OK, I admit I wanted an excuse to use the above image) Last night we did chicken in a chipotle marinade. It was yummy. The smoke is a lot better today due to the delta breezes coming through however the official fire count is now over 1,400 and I am sure the smoke will return as soon as the breeze dies down.

Last night we went to Chik-Fil-A for our free ice cream sundaes after dinner.

Work has been frustrating the last few days. I have spent a lot of time struggling with issues that end up staying unresolved. I guess that is how it goes some days. We are having a BBQ at work today to celebrate something or other. I am sure it is an important event - just not sure which one.

Gratitude

As I wend my way through the fields, fens and forests of life, I find myself changing - oh not in large obvious ways for the most part, but in gentle, subtle ways (well sometimes large, obvious and PAINFUL ways). I take with me a little bit of every place I have been. Of all the influences in my life, by far the greatest is my Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ. His grace and mercy are the reason I am still breathing and "wending." From Him, I endeavor to take the most "bits" and apply the most change.

Of great importance in my life is my beautiful wife, Emma. She is truly the love of my life and my dearest treasure. She too has displayed enormous grace and mercy in our relationship. Without her at my side I would drift aimlessly indeed. She carries my love and my pride with her wherever she goes.
